Welcome to the South Hampshire Reform Jewish Community Website

SHRJC is a small, friendly and welcoming community of Jews in Portsmouth, Southampton and Winchester and the areas in between.

Our community’s aim is to offer Jews in the area the opportunity to come together to celebrate our traditions and our culture, the major Jewish festivals and life events.

SHRJC use the most recent Reform Siddur (and where available the updated prayer books for Passover and the High Holy Days). Services are in both English and Hebrew. 

SHRJC is part of the Reform Movement for Judaism: www.reformjudaism.org.uk/

SHRJC maintain links with the Bournemouth Reform Synagogue, in some of whose services we participate. www.bournemouthreform.org.uk

Services are led by community members with the help and support of of visiting Rabbis and Student Rabbis from the Leo Beck College: www.lbc.ac.uk/

SHRJC work with the Southampton Hebrew Congregation in the Southampton Jewish Society and arrange and participate in Jewish cultural events

SHRJC is a self-financing membership organisation. Charity number 1040109

SHRJC is a member of the Joint Jewish Burial Society: www.jjbs.org.uk 

Members are able to join JJSB via the community and the cost of JJBS Membership is an additional charge on top of annual SHRJC membership.
